The Mercer in Walnut Creek
Let's talk about one of Walnut Creek's best known luxury condo complexes. It's called the Mercer. It's right in the heart of downtown Walnut Creek. You've probably seen it if you've been in downtown Walnut Creek. You can't miss it. It's just two blocks south of Bart and it's right kitty corner to the Lesher Center. It was built in 2006. It's got 180 units, one bedrooms, two bedrooms, and even three bedroom penthouses, which are really spectacular, right on the corners. It has everything you want in a luxury condo complex, a barbecue area, a pool, a gym, gated parking, and the works. It's kind of a unique building and that it's got a couple different parts to it, so there's courtyards, so it's not as if you don't face the street. You can face the courtyard and still get plenty of sunlight, and it goes without saying. The reason why people live in the Mercer is because it's so close to downtown Walnut Creek.
You really can just roll out of bed and be in dozens of restaurants. It's on the north side of town, so it's got sort of the locust in Maine and North California feel. It's about a 15 minute walk to Broadway Plaza. But between the Mercer and Broadway Plaza is really the heart of downtown Walnut Creek. The Mercer attracts a lot of different people. Downsizers, as you can imagine. People who have sold the big house, they don't need it anymore. Their kids are gone, and they want to be in more of an urban center and don't necessarily want to go into Oakland or Berkeley or the city. And then young professionals live at the Mercer. Even married couples. Couples with one or two kids even. I've seen HOA dues for the Mercer are on the high side. It varies depending on how big the units are, but they're above average for what you'll find in downtown Walnut Creek, and that's because of all the amenities. Like I mentioned, if you're looking for a downtown luxury condo in Walnut Creek, the Mercer should be right at the top of your list based on the location. You can't go wrong with it.
